Just for those of you who aren't entirely sure about that.I initially bought this game to have a relaxed, laid-back offline game I could play every now and then. After a few hours, I got extremely invested in the story and characters on a similar level like in Witcher 3.Running around the map and collecting resources and recruits, upgrading your camp and crafting your cards is a ton of fun. Your choices have minor gameplay and story impacts as in:You killed some dude and thus missed out on a secret that would have granted you 400 Gold.orYou investigated this and it was a trap and you lost 8 recruits. That kind of stuff. I've only finished the first map and recently transitioned to the second so I can't tell if choices will have major impacts later on.The protagonist looks a little bit out of place when you wander around the map which is due to the character inking that can't be turned off. There is a thick black outline around Meve and I think it makes her look weird. In the dialogue scenes it fits in well, because everything is drawn that way but while exploring it just looks weird. As for the card gameplay itself: I like it, it's a lot of fun and offers a ton of different tactics. For example, I was able to summon 7 additional cards from my deck using a combination of 4 cards and absolutely crushed the enemy. Those moments feel really good and satisfying. Some cards have special abilities that you can use to attack enemy cards, but aside from those there is no combat, so it's not like in MTG, Hearthstone, or Elder Scrolls Legends. You also have no mana pool, instead every turn you can play one card and activate your cards special abilties if available. You also do not draw any new cards unless a special ability allows you to do that or a new round has begun.Like in Gwent from TW3, the standard card games (there are also special card games like puzzle or story relevant ones with special rules and special cards) are based on a 2 out of 3 rounds basis and the winner is whoever has the highest strength. Unlike in Gwent though, there are only 2 card rows and they are not restricted to specific card types either. The pacing in the game is really well made, you don't get dragged from one 15 minute battle into another, the standard battles are far apart from each other so that you don't feel weary too quickly. Usually you go from Story to Exploring\/Gathering to Special\/Puzzle to Point of Interest and back toward Exploring\/Gathering to another Battle or Story.Yet another great game made by CDPR. Overall an 8\/10 from me, great game with a few minor annoyances.. Let me start by saying that i am not a big fan of card games, though i did stop to play a few rounds of Gwent from time to time in my journey through the Witcher 3 even collected all the cards. "Thronebreaker: The Witcher tales" is an improved version of Gwent, a Gwent 2.0 you may say. Though the game does a great job in mixing up the encounters, there are matches with special cards, bosses, puzzles, special rules..etc. But what's truly amazing was the narration and storytelling, which got me immersed in the story of Queen Meve from the first few scenes in the game. ... And with that CD Projekt Red show us once again that they are simply unable to release games that are short of amazing, which in turn makes the wait for CyberPunk unbearable.. What an amazing griping tale with interesting characters of a Queen named Meve against all odds, and the perfect cameo of Gwevalf... of Wivia.. A game with the story mode for Gwent.Buy :If you enjoy playing Gwent. If you like card game.If you interested in The Witcher lore.If you don't have any game to play.Don't buy :If you don't like Gwent. If you don't interest in the Witcher lore.If you don't like card game.If you not good at adjust the deck.. MORE CONTENT PLEASE. Most of the Game was really interesting and exciting about using the Decks and Lore and stuff at all!But for gods sake what is this endfight? The hardest fight compared to them all so far and not even being able to adjustable. The enemy starts with 90 cards deck, gets another on one of his rows if one is destroyed and has several RNG "I draw 3 cards and get 2 plus for all" wtf?. Good Game.... I have never played gwent separately or any similar type of games, but I have liked to play gwent while playthrough The Witcher 3, and I was not disappointed that I bought the full gwent game at all. Various possibilities of dealing with enemies and customising your desk add interest but even unexperienced card player as myself by the middle of the game have started to go through all fights without problems, even though I played on hard difficulty. Only one gameplay feature I didn't like at all, it is puzzles, but 90% of them are not necessary to solve, or if you want to get some money and resources solve them via youtube, in case you struggle with solving them. The story is very much interesting, especially for the readers of the Witcher books, the lines of the game and the book Baptism of Fire intersect which give more interest for adepts of The Witcher lore. The voice acting is exceptional. It's a very crucial part of the game and it is done very good.If you liked The Witcher 1,2,3 and have read books that game is must buy.. Game mechanics are very linear with very little room for creativity\/style.Very much not like the other witcher games, felt very grindy.. I thoroughly enjoyed Thronebreaker, and give it a full 10\/10. It's really quite brilliant. The writing is superb, and the voice acting really brings the story to life.As for Gwent, well, it's much improved over the original Witcher 3 version, and the battles in Thronebreaker are tailored to fit the story, with special cards and rules. I rarely got bored in the 55 hours it took me to finish.Make no mistake, this is another epic tale from the Witcher universe, and a highly recommend it.......but a couple of things worth knowing before you buy:1. Witchers feature very little in Thronebreaker. This is more a story of rulers and their armies.2. If you buy Thronebreaker on Steam, you can't unlock the perks in Gwent on GOG. You'll need to buy the GOG version to do that.
